Mobile Study Apps – Maintaining Clinical Research Continuity in the Covid Era

Covid 19 brought about a paradigm shift in clinical care and clinical research. Social distancing practices forced critical life saving research to shift from in-person to hybrid models involving virtual visits and experiences. Study teams had to find ways to navigate the new challenges and continue with research amidst a pandemic. 

This webinar is part of the TrialX Appbakery Webinar series focused on mHealth innovation and will have researchers from Northwestern University, NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Global Lyme Alliance share how they leveraged mobile health technology for e-consent, remote data collection and activity tracking  maintaining clinical research continuity. 

Speakers:

	Priya Menon Appbakery Coordinator, TrialX Inc.  Priya coordinates Appbakery – DIY Mobile Research Study platform at TrialX. She works with the research team on their mobile research apps. She has a masters in Microbiology, degrees in Patent Law, Media Law, and certifications in Writing in Sciences from Stanford University. She has extensive writing experience with a focus on patient engagement, mhealth, digital health, cancer research, nutrition, and alternative therapies and presents a varied view on healthcare and associated domains. She is a guest columnist at The Week where she writes about cancer and medical research. She tweets at cure_talk.
	Sara Tyghter Director, Education and Outreach, Global Lyme Alliance Sara oversees the development of GLA’s educational platform supporting children, adolescents, adults, and healthcare professionals. The platform includes a peer to peer support program for patients and caregivers. Sara is focused on developing multi-channel educational programs to raise awareness and prevent the increase of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.
	Dr. Mona Ascha Clinical Research Fellow, Northwestern University Dr. Mona Ascha is a plastic and reconstructive surgery resident who is currently working as a clinical research fellow in the department of plastic surgery at Northwestern University under Dr. Sumanas Jordan. She is also pursuing her Master’s of Data Science at Northwestern.
	Shannique Richards Research Coordinator, NYU Grossman School of Medicine  Shannique Richards, MA is a 4th year Clinical Psychology doctoral student. She is a research coordinator at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Shannique oversees research on the impact of sleep, cardio-metabolic diseases, and health disparities among racial/ethnic minorities using personalized behavioral modification approaches to improve health and well being.
