Applied Informatics Inc. (hereby referred to as AI) develops, operates and maintains clinical research and health IT solutions including a mobile application BoothTracker referred to as (“App”). AI is committed to ensuring the privacy of its App users and this Privacy policy describes the efforts taken by AI to maintain and safeguard your privacy as our App user.
Booth Tracker is an app that lets users track what is hot and whats not at a conference based on number of people visiting different exhibitor booths. The App provides live booth activity stats as a heat map or as booth rankings.
- Collection of Personal Data
The App does not require App users (referred to as “users”) to provide common identifiable information like name, age, gender, email to use the App. However, the App does track number of steps walked and for this asks user’s permission to obtain their step count data from Apple’s Healthkit data store. The App also requires users location so as to display where they are on the conference exhibition floor and requests users permission to use their location information in the conference exhibition area only.
- Collection of App Traffic Data
We collect certain data (hereby referred to as “Log Data”) regarding the use of the App by users. This includes data such as App access time, date, IP address (a number which identifies which computer/mobile device is accessing a site), type of device, and other such related information. Such records are derived from our web servers’ access log files (computer files that store entries for requests made to TrialX’s servers) and this data is used for determining App usage and Traffic, a routine industry practice. Such data are used for improving App user experience by looking at data in an aggregate manner.
The App does not use Cookies or store Cookies.
- Usage of Personal Information
All user data is used in ways to provide the services intended, in a manner that protects the privacy of our users. The primary use of step count and location is to determine the booth visit stats and to display the same to users, thus providing them useful information on which booths are popular in the conference. Any App Log Data is used for App debugging and user experience improvements only.
- Sharing of User Information
AI does not sell, trade or rent to others any information collected in the App. AI will only share aggregate statistical information about App usage and step counts/booth visits of the App users. This aggregate information does not contain personally identifiable information and therefore cannot identify any specific individual.
- Security and Confidentiality of Data
We take all the necessary steps to keep your data safe and secure. AI takes all required precautions to protect our users’ information. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to any data collected. All AI’s employees and agents with access to databases have signed confidentiality agreements, which forbids any use of the data beyond supporting AI’s working needs.
